Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Rashida Jones join Paul Rudd in My Idiot Brother

We just learned about Paul Rudd starring in the upcoming comedy MY IDIOT BROTHER and now we have some more plot details and bunch of cast updates. The film stars Rudd as a loser brother to three ambitious sisters and an overbearing mother. Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer will be playing the three sisters. Their characters are described as follows:
Banks is a career-driven single about to get her big break in journalism after spending years writing about accessories at a fashion magazine; Deschanel is a bisexual whose flakiness and lies are getting in the way of moving forward with her caring, responsible girlfriend (Jones); and Mortimer plays a Park Slope mom too worried about having the perfect life and children to notice that her marriage is falling apart.
That’s one heck of a cast they’ve managed to assemble. And the early report made it sound like the mother was going to be visiting each of her kids, but in fact, the brother (Paul Rudd) will be the one that visits each of his sisters, which makes a lot more sense.
