Ewan McGregor replaces Bradley Cooper in Jane Got A Gun
JANE GOT A GUN has gone through more cast and crew changes than any film of recent history. After news recently broke that Bradley Cooper had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts, the indie western film wasted no time in finding a replacement for its villain in none other than Ewan McGregor. I find this casting a bit exciting, not only because he McGregor rarely plays a villain (although he did dabble in last year’s HAYWIRE), but also because he will reunite with his Star Wars costar in Natalie Portman. This is a very exciting project with some very talented big names so I’m anxious to see the final product.
To recap the story and all the casting shenanigans, JANE GOT A GUN stars Natalie Portman as a woman that is seeking help from her ex-lover (was going to be Michael Fassbender but will now be Joel Edgerton) when her outlaw husband (was going to be Joel Edgerton, but then was going to be Jude Law, then became Bradley Cooper and now is Ewan McGregor) is injured and being hunted by his former gang. The film was to be directed by Lynne Ramsay (WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN) but now will be helmed by Gavin O’Connor (WARRIOR). (Deadline)
