First look at the new RoboCop suit

It seems fans are still upset and frustrated by the idea of remaking/rebooting ROBOCOP and after seeing the first set photos of the new suit, I’m not sure the fan backlash is going to get any better. But if we can all be honest with one another for a second, was the first ROBOCOP film really that great? I know it has its fans, but is it such a cherished classic that it’s beyond being remade or re-imagined? Regardless of how you feel about the original, I think we can all agree that we’d rather Hollywood put their time and money towards making something new and original than remaking a film from the 80’s. But that’s a losing argument, so check out the first set photos below.
Regarding the new suit; I do feel obliged to point out that these are set photos and we have no idea what the final product will end up like. Maybe it will undergo a CGI transformation in post production or maybe this is just some test footage. I’d wait to form an opinion until we see an official still from the film. The ROBOCOP reboot is being directed by José Padilha and will star Joel Kinnaman (as RoboCop), Hugh Laurie, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson and Abbie Cornish. The film is set to hit theaters on August 9th, 2013. (ComingSoon)
