First pictures of Matt Damon and Emily Blunt in The Adjustment Bureau

Philip K. Dick has given us some great material for movies, most notably TOTAL RECALL, BLADE RUNNER and MINORITY REPORT.  The latest of his short stories to be made into a film is THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU.  The story is about a hot shot politician (Matt Damon) that falls for a beautiful ballet dancer (Emily Blunt), but when he tries to be with her, he discovers that “fate” doesn’t want them to be together and that “fate” is controlled by men called The Adjustment Bureau.  The film also stars Anthony Mackie and Terrence Stamp and is directed by George Nolfi.

I like the idea of Matt Damon in this type of role.  I think Dick’s short stories are sometimes hard for actors to pull off and if it doesn’t work (PAYCHECK), it can turn out pretty bad.  But the times his stories have worked, they’ve always been driven by a strong actor.
