Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna join Will Ferrell in Casa De Mi Padre

When Will Ferrell first announced he was going to be starring in the Spanish language film CASA DE MI PADRE, he of course had to make a joke out of it. But now he’s starting to get some excellent Spanish speaking actors to star alongside with him and it’s not so funny any more. Well, the movie could be funny, but the casting announcements aren’t funny. Anyway, the dynamic duo of Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna are set to star with Ferrell in the comedy that translates to HOUSE OF MY FATHER. I’m not keeping track, but I think this is the 97th time they’ve starred in a film together. Matt Piedmont will be directing.
The film’s plot details are still kept pretty tight, but we do know that Bernal will play a family friend and Luna will play Ferrell’s brother. We also know that they want to make this film overly dramatic, to poke fun at some of the Spanish language TV shows that pop up on cable.
