Garrett Hedlund joins Justin Timberlake and Carey Mulligan in Inside Llewyn Davis for the Coen Brothers
A few days ago, Warner Bros. decided to shut down work on the live action remake of AKIRA that was set to star Garrett Hedlund. That film is still seemingly a ways away from ever going in front of a camera, so that left plenty of time for Hedlund to find something else and it looks like he’s found something much better in the form of the Coen Brothers’ indie folk film INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS. The film is about Dave van Ronk and the 60’s folk sing in Greenwich village. In true Coens form, there’s not word on who Hedlund will play, but its believed that Oscar Isaac will be playing Ronk.
The film has already assembled quite a cast, including Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, F. Murray Abraham and Jeanine Seralles. Presumably, all of them will be playing someone that was famous during the 60’s folk music scene, like Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Phil Ochs. Production should in February for an awards release later this year.
