George Clooney and Sandra Bullock float away in the first Gravity poster
Last night the teaser to the actual trailer to GRAVITY was released by Entertainment Tonight (Yes, that’s a real thing and you can click the link to watch it). For the record, the full trailer is said to be revealed and available Thursday. Warner Bros. has just released something with a little more substance to prepare for the trailer and that is the first poster for GRAVITY. I have to say, I am pretty excited about this film. The tag “Don’t Let Go” brings home the frightening image of floating off into space. It sounds like OPEN WATER where two people are drifting in the ocean hoping to be rescued but more than likely just waiting to die, only this time in GRAVITY they are surrounded by a whole new unknown deathly element, space. Plus, you have two very accomplished actors in George Clooney and Sandra Bullock and a great director in Alfonso Cuaron to boot. Cuaron directed HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN, Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN and one of my favorites CHILDREN OF MEN. The Science Fiction thriller is set to release October 4th and has just added to an already stellar fall lineup.
GRAVITY official synopsis: Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space. (Warner Bros. Pictures)
