Updated: George Lucas bringing Star Wars Saga to Blu-ray

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has finally announced that STAR WARS: THE COMPLETE SAGA will be released on Blu-ray this coming September.In order to make as much money as possible In order to meet the needs of every STAR WARS fan in the galaxy, the studio will release three separate sets, they are: STAR WARS: THE COMPLETE SAGA which will be a nine-disc set that will include all six films and will cost $139.00, STAR WARS: PREQUEL TRILOGY, which will be a three-disc set and will only include Episodes I-III for $69.99 and lastly STAR WARS: ORIGINAL TRILOGY, a three-disc set the includes Episodes IV-VI to be priced at $69.99.

Only the STAR WARS: THE COMPLETE SAGA will contain three extra discs that contain over 30 hours of special features and never-before-seen alternate and deleted scenes and will be of the highest possible video and audio quality. Amazon.com is already accepting pre-orders.

UPDATE: 20th Century Fox has moved up the date for the Blu-ray release to September 16, 2011 instead of September 27th. This will make it easier for retailers to have midnight release parties for the Star Wars geeks.
