Get Out named Best Picture by the Kansas City Film Critics Circle
The Kansas City Film Critics Circle declared GET OUT as the best film in 2017 for the 52nd Annual James Loutzenhizer Awards. Along with Best Picture, GET OUT won best Original Screenplay for Jordan Peele and Best Science Fiction/Horror/Fantasy film.
The other two top winners included CALL ME BY YOUR NAME with three awards and THE SHAPE OF WATER taking home two awards. The Kanas City Film Critics Circle spread the love around with nine different movies being awarded, including one tie this year in the Adapted Screenplay category for CALL ME BYOUR NAME and LOGAN.
The Kansas City Film Critics Circle is the second oldest film critics group in the country, founded in 1967 by Dr. James Loutzenhizer. The KCFCC gathered December 17 to award the best in film for 2017. As a voting member, I like to give a little insight to our readers. This was our unofficial short list of Best Picture nominees:
