Godzilla rises from the rubble in the new movie poster
The first poster for the GODZILLA remake has been released at Comic-Con. According to the new synopsis the radioactive monster will be battling a few other creatures. The poster gives the vision of Godzilla rising from the rubble. This makes sense in the underlining world problem themes behind the old Kaiju film. Now that Guillermo del Toro’s fun PACIFIC RIM (click the link to read our review) has come out, will that hinder or help the similar monster genre flick next year? While I’m on the side of the more original PACIFIC RIM, something tells me the more recognized cast and monster might benefit the fire breathing lizard. However, it should be noted the 1998 Matthew Broderick version was absolutely atrocious.
GODZILLA official synopsis: An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. Directed by Gareth Edwards (who directed the fantastic independent film MONSTERS), GODZILLA will star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen Juliette Binoche, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins and David Strathairn. Currently the Japanese remake will be released May 16, 2014.
