Henry Cavill and Russell Crowe star in the epic new Man of Steel TV spot

Henry Cavill in Man of Steel

The epic marketing angle for MAN OF STEEL continues even into TV land, where the latest TV spot for the new Superman film feels a lot like the trailers we’ve seen in that we don’t see much of Henry Cavill and then Russell Crowe gives a long speech and asks the question, “What if a child aspired to something greater?”  At this point, I can’t tell if I’m genuinely excited to see MAN OF STEEL or if I’m just really curious to see if director Zack Snyder can pull it off.  I appreciate the epic-ness of it all, but I also hope they don’t forget that Superman is also fun.  We just haven’t seen that in the marketing material yet.

MAN OF STEEL stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Ayelet Zurer, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Antje Traue, Christopher Meloni and Laurence Fishburne. The Zack Snyder directed and Christopher Nolan produced film flies into theaters on June 14th, 2013.

MAN OF STEEL official synopsis: A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.
