Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer star in the first trailer for The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
I’m not completely sure what to make of the first trailer for Guy Ritchie’s THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. On one hand, I love the 60’s setting and the possibilities that creates, but on the other hand, I had trouble buying into anything I saw. Henry Cavill looks like he’s playing the part as Clark Kent and I’m not sure that Russian accent is working for Armie Hammer. So with that in mind, the first trailer for the film can be seen below and it shows quite a bit about the plot given it’s the first trailer. I think we need to see more marketing from the film to see if Ritchie can pull it off, but check out the trailer and see for yourself.
The official synopsis for THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.: Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s, at the height of the Cold War, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” centers on CIA agent Solo and KGB agent Kuryakin. Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe. THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. stars Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Debicki, Jared Harris, Luca Calvani and Hugh Grant. The Guy Ritchie directed film hits theaters on August 14th.
