Henry Cavill soars on the new poster for Man of Steel
I’m always pretty hard on posters, mainly because I’ve been an avid collector for about 20 years now and after all this time, I get pretty tired of the floating heads and bad PhotShopping we see these days. But I had hopes for the final MAN OF STEEL poster since we had seen several nice teaser posters. But the final poster features an awkward looking Henry Cavill soaring above a city and I can’t help but think Warner Bros. could have done better. I like the logo, I like the font, but that picture just doesn’t look right. I guess I should be thankful it’s not a floating head design, but with all the great images we’ve seen from the film, I would have thought they could have come up with something a little more epic for the final one-sheet. A quick search will bring up several fan made posters that put this one to shame.
MAN OF STEEL stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Ayelet Zurer, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Antje Traue, Christopher Meloni and Laurence Fishburne. The Zack Snyder directed and Christopher Nolan produced film flies into theaters on June 14th, 2013. And this probably means nothing, but have you noticed that the TV spots, trailers and official marketing never call him “Superman”? I’m not familiar enough with the original comics to say if this is intentional or not, but I’m guessing it’s going to be addressed in the film.
