Henry Cavill stars in the very bland Man of Steel trailer
Many fans were almost as excited to see Henry Cavill in the first teaser trailer for MAN OF STEEL as they were to see THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, which is surprising that Warner Bros. decided to release such a bland, existential trailer that barely features 5 seconds of Superman in action. We see Henry Cavill not really as Clark Kent, but as a fisherman, presumably trying to find his place in the world. I can tell what they’re going for, but I’m not quite sure it worked. There’s two versions of the trailer, one featuring Kevin Costner doing the voiceover and the other featuring Russell Crowe doing the voiceover. The narration, in its entirety reads “You will give the people an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time you will help them accomplish wonders.”
MAN OF STEEL is set to star Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Antje Traue, Christopher Meloni and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder is handling directing duties on the reboot with a close eye from producer Christopher Nolan. MAN OF STEEL hits theaters on June 14th, 2013.
