High School Musical’s Zac Efron launders money

Our little High School Musical kid is growing up so fast. Zac Efron will co-produce and star in a Swedish thriller remake called Snabba Cash meaning “easy money.” Not to be confused with another recent Swedish crime thriller, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to be directed by David Fincher. Based upon a novel by Jens Lapidus the story is about some friends who become involved in drugs and organized crime. Efron will play a financial wiz kid (originally played by Joel Kinnaman) who creates money laundering schemes for a drug syndicate in order to get rich quick. Apparently, the rights to Snabba Cash was a hot commodity that finally went to Warner Bros after quite the bidding war.
I’ve never seen any of the High School Musicals but I understand Zac is quite popular among the younger ladies. It will be interesting to see if he can bring some of his fans with him and gain new ones on his journey to less kid-friendly films.
