Hugh Jackman will join James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender in X-Men: Days of Future Past
Big news continues to come in for the upcoming sequel X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Earlier this week we found out from director Bryan Singer that Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen would be reprising their roles as Charles Xavier and Magneto, and now we’re learning that Hugh Jackman will be coming back for a bit as Logan/Wolverine. Since X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST includes time travel and X-Men both old and young, it’s not surprising that Hugh Jackman would be making an appearance, but maybe he’ll have a more integral role that we think. The story line for the film is tough to follow, but basically we’re following a plot where the future has been taken over by Sentinels and one of the X-Men has to go back in time to stop the assassination of Senator Kelly to prevent the horrible future. It’s more complicated than that I’m sure, but that covers the basics. Stay tuned for more X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST news, it sounds like it’s starting to get very interesting.
One of the cool things about Wolverine, of course, is that he could show up in any, or all of the various timelines they choose to go with. As of now, we don’t know if Wolverine is going to have a small cameo like he did in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS or if he’ll be an integral part of the story. Although First Class was a great movie, it’s tough to have too many X-Men films without Wolverine, so here’s hoping Singer takes full advantage of Hugh Jackman’s eagerness to play Wolvie. Directed by Bryan Singer, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will star: Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jason Flemyng and is set to hit theaters on July 18th, 2014. Hugh Jackman can be seen next as Wolverine in THE WOLVERINE, which hits theaters on July 26th, 2013. (THR)
