Hugh Laurie and Leighton Meester make an awkward couple in new The Oranges trailer

Hugh Laurie in The Oranges trailer

A film coming out this October that may not get a lot of love but should is the comedy THE ORANGES. This little indie comedy hit the Toronto International Film Festival last year but is just now getting to see the light of day and hopefully will be somewhat of a success. With talents like Hugh Laurie (TV’s House), Oliver Platt (X-MEN: FIRST CLASS),  Catherine Keener, Allison Janney, Alia Shawkat (TV’s Arrested Development), Adam Brody and Leighton Meester (COUNTRY STRONG) it would be hard to not turn out a comedy. If you like dysfunctional families, then this might be a film to stick on your “to see list”.

THE ORANGES follows a David (Hugh Laurie) who falls for his best friend Terry’s (Oliver Platt) twenty-something year-old daughter Nina (Leighton Meester). Obviously this relationship causes heartache as well as some pretty awkward moments. THE ORANGES is directed by Julian Farino and is set to hit theaters in a limited release on October 5th, 2012. Check out the trailer below.
