It's the First Day of School…Forever from R.L. Stine coming to the big screen

Any parent or book lover knows who R.L. Stine is because he has carved himself a nice niche in the world of children’s literature. With his popular series ‘Goosebumps’, ‘The Haunting Hour’ and ‘Fear Street’ still going strong after all these years (I think they have been around forever), the author is finally getting the Hollywood treatment as his next book IT’S THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL…FOREVER is coming to the big screen. The story is being described as a DIARY OF A WIMPY KID meets GROUNDHOG DAY, where young student Artie survives his first awful day of school only to discover that the second day is the exact same as the day before. He proceeds through the book trying to change his nightmarish day which may or may not end, because let’s be honest R.L. Stine can really drag these things out for awhile. The actual book will hit stores in July with Gotham Group optioning the rights to the film. Stay tuned for updates.
I have to admit that I wasn’t a big fan of R.L. Stine back in my youth because his books were too creepy for me, but I remember my sister enjoying them (she was the brave one). However, this concept doesn’t sound too scary and my wimpy self just may be able to sit through it with my niece and nephew one day.
