Jackson Rathbone in M. Night Shyamalan's new trailer for The Last Airbender

I have a hard time getting into the trailers for M. Night Shyamalan’s THE LAST AIRBENDER. Maybe it’s because I have no familiarity with the source material and I’ve never seen an episode of Nickelodeon’s insanely popular animated series. But as an unbiased observer of the trailer, it just doesn’t do anything for me. Maybe I’m not the right audience, but I think M. Night has his work cut out for him because he’s going to have to be able to establish this world and get non-fans to buy into it. Either way, the new trailer is here and this time we actually get to see Dev Patel from SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE; nice to see him in something else.
The movie is about a boy that discovers he is the last of his kind and must find a way to stop the war and unite the four nations (air, water, fire, earth). Dev Patel, Jackson Rathbone (from Twilight), Noah Ringer and Nicola Peltz star in the film. It hits theaters on July 2nd.
