Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced that the comedy LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, Oliver Platt and Hank Azaria, will be available on Blu-ray March 1, 2011. The film follows Jamie Randall (Jake Gyllenhaal) who is a smooth talking salesman who moves into the pharmaceutical industry. When he meets a young patient, Maggie Murdock (Anne Hathaway), while on a doctors visit, the two strike up a romance that is stalled due to the fact that Maggie is in the early stages of Parkinson’s disease. The two work through a new relationship with unorthodox obstacles.

This was one of last year’s popular films that I think was great upon initial viewing but not something I’d watch again. It just didn’t know whether or not it wanted to be a drama or a romantic comedy and I left feeling just a little bummed and annoyed at both of the main characters. Special features for LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS include:

  • Funny Extended Deleted Scenes
  • An Actor’s Discussion: Relationship between Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway
  • Beautifully Complex: Anne Hathaway discribes Maggie
  • Reformed Womanizer: Jake Gyllenhaal is Jamie
