Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena in set photos from End of Watch

The below pictures are a little confusing since the film END OF WATCH isn’t technically supposed to start shooting until July, so I’m not sure what they’re doing in the images below. A cop drama isn’t something that would normally shoot promotional photos, but that appears to be what’s they’re doing. It’s also funny to see Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena try to look tough with shotguns. I’m not sure what it is, but no matter how hard he tries, I just can’t buy Jake G. as a tough guy. Even after he bulked up for PRINCE OF PERSIA, I though he looked more like the nerdy guy that would fix your computer.

END OF WATCH “centers on the long term friendship of two cops” and other than that, we don’t know much about it. The film isn’t slated to hit theaters until 2013, so there’s still plenty of time for information to come out.
