Jake Gyllenhaal and Source Code coming to Blu-ray

Summit Entertainment has announced that the sci-fi thriller from director Duncan Jones called SOURCE CODE, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga, will be released on Blu-ray July 26, 2011. The film follows soldier Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal) who is part of a government project that is set up to prevent disasters. His particular mission is to find a bomber on a Chicago commuter train and until he discovers the identity of the killer he must relive the accident. I’m making this sound way more complicated of a plot than it is, but if you’ve ever read this site then you know what this film is about. However, click here to watch the trailer.

SOURCE CODE had moderate success at the box office, bringing in just over $50 million which I guess isn’t too bad for a sci-fi thriller. I thought the film was pretty good, but it’s definitely one of those films that may lose its shine after you watch it and know the ending. There will be more special features on the disc, but right now we know the release will include:

Source Code Blu-ray

  • Audio commentary with Jake Gyllenhaal, Jones, & writer Ben Ripley
  • Science Focal Points
  • Access: Source Code Interactive Viewing Mode
  • Cast Interviews
  • Trivia Track
