Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin and Keira Knightley star in the first Everest trailer

Well, I thought this was a Jake Gyllenhaal movie, but the official press release for director Baltasar Kormakur’s (2 GUNS) latest film actually lists him last, which leads me to believe Gyllenhaal isn’t going to be around at the end of the film. Jason Clarke is actually listed first, which is an impressive get for him considering the impressive ensemble cast Kormakur has assembled. The first trailer for the film promises a nice man versus nature film that will probably bring tears to audience’s eyes as they witness their favorite stars plummet to their death. Check out the first trailer below.

The official EVEREST synopsis: Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival. The Baltasar Kormakur directed film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley and Emily Watson. EVEREST hits theaters on September 18th.
