James Franco and 127 Hours coming to Blu-ray

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced that the Academy Award nominated film 127 HOURS, starring James Franco, Kate Mara and Amber Tamblyn, will be available on Blu-ray March 1, 2011. The film is based on the true story of Aron Ralston, a mountain climber who gets caught by a boulder while hiking in Utah and has to resort to drastic measures to escape. This was directed by Danny Boyle who won Best Director for his 2009 film SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE.

I hate to admit this to the public, but I was completely oblivious to what the “dramatic ending” was to this film, and boy was I surprised, disturbed and exhilarated all at the same time. If you can manage to get a person who is completely out of the loop and who has no idea what this story is about, try to watch it with them because I’m sure it makes it even more enjoyable. Special features for 127 HOURS include:

127 Hours Blu-ray

●    Commentary with Danny Boyle, Christian Colson & Simon Beaufoy
●    Search & Rescue – The events that aided the search and rescue of Aron Ralston
●    127 Hours: An Extraordinary View – A unique collaboration between the director and actor
●    Deleted Scenes
●    God of Love: short film by Luke Matheny
