James Franco and Harry Potter's Tom Felton in the teaser trailer for Rise of the Planet of the Apes

The first teaser trailer for the upcoming prequel to PLANET OF THE APES entitled RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (clever title, don’t you think) has just been released and it looks promising. The film stars James “I Like Jobs” Franco, Tom Felton (HARRY POTTER franchise), Freida Pinto (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE), Andy Serkis, Brian Cox and John Lithgow and is directed by Rupert Wyatt. As stated before, this is the prequel to the classic sci-fi film and follows a doctor who does genetic testing on apes that give them boosted brain power with which they take over our world. I don’t suspect there will be a happy ending here. RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES just got a new release date of August 5, 2011, so look for some new photos and trailers to start cropping up pretty soon.
