James McAvoy joins Daniel Radcliffe in upcoming Frankenstein movie
James McAvoy has been a busy actor lately, but the movies he’s chosen are against type compared to the roles that got him his huge fanbase. He played an amnesiac thief in TRANCE, a battered cop in WELCOME TO THE PUNCH and plays an alcoholic in the upcoming FILTH. But he still has X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST on the horizon as well as the more familiar romantic territory in THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ELEANOR RIGBY. It seems for his next role, James McAvoy is taking yet another turn and has joined Daniel Radcliffe in the upcoming FRANKENSTEIN.
Max Landis (CHRONICLE) wrote the screenplay for the film that will be directed by Paul McGuigan (LUCKY NUMBER SLEVIN) and will feature James McAvoy as Dr. Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe as his trusty sidekick Igor. Exact plot details are still being kept secret, so it’s unclear if this will be a dark, traditional retelling or if Landis and McGuigan have something more exciting planned. (Deadline)
