James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender merge with their future selves in first posters for X-Men: Days of Future Past
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST had a great reception at Comic-Con despite not revealing too many details. The highlight came when the entire cast came out on stage at the same time, ala The Avengers a couple of years ago. Today we get a glimpse of two posters from the film and I like the merging of the two actors playing Professor X and Magneto respectively. I’m not sure these are good enough to hang up in your office or bedroom, but they’re enough to get you excited for the film. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will combine both casts from the X-MEN series that will include Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Nicolas Hoult, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Jason Flemyng and Peter Dinklage. Directed by Bryan Singer the film is set to hit theaters on July 18th, 2014.
The official synopsis of the comics (via Wikipedia) is: The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men. She succeeds in her mission and returns to the future, but despite her success, the future timeline still exists as an alternative timeline rather than as the actual future. (EW)
