James Nesbitt and Adam Brown join Martin Freeman in the Peter Jackson film The Hobbit

Last month we announced that Martin Freeman would be playing Bilbo Baggins in the upcoming film THE HOBBIT directed by Peter Jackson. Today we learn that British actor James Nesbitt (known for his roles in MILLIONS and televisions Cold Feet) will play Bofur. Bofur is described as “a disarmingly forthright, funny and occasionally brave Dwarf.” He will be joined by newcomer Adam Brown who will play Ori, another dwarf in the group that “sets out to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the infamous dragon, Smaug.” Brown and Nesbit join a lengthy cast that includes: Richard Armitage, Rob Kazinsky, Aidan Turner, Graham McTavish, John Callen, Stephen Hunter, Mark Hadlow and Peter Hambleton.
In true Peter Jackson form, production is already in full swing and both parts of THE HOBBIT are set to be released in December of 2012 and December 2013 respectively. There is no doubt that these films will probably be just as spectacular as the LORD OF THE RINGS films and will be Oscar contenders as well.
