James Spader joins Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans in The Avengers: Age of Ultron
While we wait for tidbits and continue to predict what will happen in THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, Joss Whedon and company are hard at work assembling the cast. We still don’t have official word on Aaron Taylor-Johnson or Elizabeth Olsen, but now we know who the villain will be. James Spader will be Ultron in the sequel, squaring off against all of our favorite heroes. Given that Ultron is a robot, it’s unlikely that Spader will actually appear in the film and I presume this is more of a voiceover gig. But you never know with Marvel and since Whedon isn’t sticking to Ultron’s comic story, he could easily change things up. Either way, James Spader is a nice choice to join the ensemble film.
Directed by Joss Whedon, THE AVENGERS 2 will have our favorite heroes returning to the big screen and will star: Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Samuel L. Jackson. It’s also believed that Aaron Taylor Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen will be joining the cast as Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch as well. THE AVENGERS 2 is set to open in theaters on May 1st, 2015. (Marvel)
