Jason Momoa and Stephen Lang in new photos from Conan the Barbarian

It has been quiet on the CONAN THE BARBARIAN front lately. After a string of casting announcements and even a handful of photos from the upcoming reboot, we went a few months without hearing anything. But today Empire magazine has posted a few new pictures from the film, featuring a shirtless Jason Momoa, which I guess is pointless to point out because I’m assuming the guy isn’t going to be putting on a shirt the entire film (he is a barbarian, after all). But we also get a look at Stephen Lang as Khalar Zym in the film, but still no pictures of Rachel Nichols, Rose McGowan or Ron Perlman.

I can go either way on this film, but it’s all going to boil down to how well audiences like Jason Momoa. The name “Conan” is going to attract a certain number of people, but he better be a charming and captivating dude to make this successful. The film is directed by Marcus Nispel and opens everywhere on August 19th, in 3D of course.
