Jennifer Connelly and Greg Kinnear set to star in Writers

Jennifer Connelly and Greg Kinnear look set to star in the indie drama WRITERS. In the film, Kinnear will play a novelist who is dealing with the complicated relationship with his ex-wife (Connelly), their teenage son and their collegiate daughter. The film will be directed by Josh Boone from a script he also wrote, marking his directorial debut. Relationship dramas are nothing new to Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly since the two seemingly gravitate towards the relationship dramas. This will also mark a re-teaming of sorts for Connelly and Kinnear, who previously starred together in SALVATION BOULEVARD.
I always like to see first time directors get big names to star in their debuts, but I’m also always cautiously optimistic when it comes to indie dramas. This film can go either way, but with talented leads like Kinnear and Connelly, Boone is definitely off to the right start. WRITERS will start shooting in Wilmington, NC in March.
