Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth say goodbye in a new clip from The Hunger Games
So just how huge do you think Jennifer Lawrence is going to become after THE HUNGER GAMES? And of course, I’m referring to her superstar status, not her weight. I guess the only comparison we have with what Jennifer Lawrence is about to go through is Kristen Stewart and the Twilight saga, but even that isn’t a fair comparison. Jennifer Lawrence has a much more established resume than what K-Stew had before Twilight and THE HUNGER GAMES don’t seem to spark the craziness that Twilight does. But the thing about Jennifer Lawrence is that she’s a great actress, even without the hype. Her performance in films like WINTER’S BONE, THE BEAVER and LIKE CRAZY would have been enough to catapult her to stardom, but THE HUNGER GAMES is going to make Jennifer Lawrence a household name, if she isn’t already. And oh yeah, early word on the film is that it’s incredible.
In the clip below, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) says goodbye to Gale (Liam Hemsworth) after she volunteers as tribute for THE HUNGER GAMES. It’s a decent clip, but it’s just a glimpse, so it’s hard to get anything out of it if you haven’t read the books (or in my case, have someone that has read the books tell you the importance of the clip). But it fits in nicely with what we’ve seen so far and should do well to get the already eager fans even more excited. One thing I like about the clip (and all the clips so far) is they not only showcase the intensity of the film, but also the acting talent of Jennifer Lawrence and her costars.
The film is directed by Gary Ross and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Wes Bentley, Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland. THE HUNGER GAMES is this Friday, on March 23, 2012.
