You think Lionsgate is intentionally poking Summit’s Twilight series by releasing the first trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES barely two weeks before Breaking Dawn debuts in theaters? It’s probably innocent, but I imagine there’s at least a little bit of a rivalry there. But after much anticipation, the first full length trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES is here (not to be confused with that brief teaser trailer a while back). I haven’t read the books, nor do I know much about the overall story (other than the basics), but I have to say the trailer looks like a lot of fun. It seems to have a lot of heart and intensity, so let’s hope they can keep that up through the entire film.
The Gary Ross directed film will star Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz and Donald Sutherland. THE HUNGER GAMES is set to hit theaters on March 23, 2012.
