Jennifer Lawrence stars in the House At The End Of The Street trailer
We just saw a still of Jennifer Lawrence in her upcoming PG-13 horror film HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET and today we get a look at the first trailer for the film. The still was released last Friday, which was conveniently timed to coincide with the opening of THE HUNGER GAMES, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence. And since the movie was such a huge phenomenon and has sparked debates ranging from the possible racial undertones of the film to Jennifer Lawrence’s weight, Relativity Media decided it was a good time to release the trailer, which you can watch below.
In the film, Jennifer Lawrence plays a young woman that moves next door to a house that was the site of a series of horrendous murders several years ago. She soon learns that the family’s lone surviving son is still living in the house and begin to strike up an unlikely friendship, that starts to get romantic. But soon, she starts to uncover some of the family’s secrets and she realizes everything is not as it seems. I always have a hard time getting on board with PG-13 horror movies, but I’ll give the trailer some credit; I liked the reverse telling of the trailer/story and it seems director Mark Tonderai (HUSH) is using some innovative techniques to tell the story. It remains to be seen how this will play out on screen, but having Jennifer Lawrence in the film should help a lot. I would also assume that THE HUNGER GAMES Blu-ray will come out around the same time, further generating buzz for Jennifer Lawrence and HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET.
Along with Jennifer Lawrence, the film stars Elisabeth Shue, Max Thieriot, Gil Bellows, Nolan Gerard Funk and Krista Bridges. HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET will hit theaters on September 21st.
