Jim Carrey could return for sequels to Bruce Almighty and Dumb & Dumber

It’s been awhile since we’ve been a true return to form from Jim Carrey. With roles in films like the upcoming MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS, 2008’s YES MAN, and some voice work, the actor is still having some trouble getting back to his glory days. But what if he could revisit some roles that brought him back into the spotlight? According to Carrey, that might just be the plan. Coming Soon had the opportunity to speak with Carrey, who offered this juicy news, “We’re talking about maybe returning to some old characters that everyone has been asking about. There’s ‘Bruce Almighty’ and we’re talking about maybe another ‘Dumb and Dumber.'” Let’s just hope he isn’t teasing us.
One that’s definitely been in the cards is a sequel to DUMB AND DUMBER. Peter Farrelly told Moviehole back in February that he and his brother were already trying to get that one on the move, “[Dumb and Dumber] has run a bunch of times on TV in the states, and kids will come up and they’ll be able to quote lines from that – lines that I’ve long forgotten. If we could get those two guys back together, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels that might be a worthwhile sequel – and that ball is in motion. We’re starting to think about what those two dimwits would be doing twenty-years later in life, and hopefully we’ll be able to come up with something worthy of a sequel.”
It might be more realistic to think that Harry and Llyod will team-up again since the brothers Farrelly have given the nod. However, with Carrey being the ultimate jokester, we might be holding our breath on both projects.
