Joel Edgerton and Jessica Chastain in, Rooney Mara out for Kathryn Bigelow's Kill Bin Laden

Joel Edgerton and Jessica Chastain

If you’ve been following the tale of Katheryn Bigelow’s KILL BIN LADEN, then by now you know that the planning of this film is almost worthy of a movie in its own right.  The film was originally scripted in 2001 and was set to be about the attempted assassination of Bin Laden in the Tora Bora mountains.  But before anyone could get in front of a camera, Bin Laden was found and killed, so the whole project had to be scrapped and redone with the updated history.  And that’s just the script.  Star Joel Edgerton has been linked to the project for a while, but with filming set to begin in February and the star circling so many roles, many were concerned he wouldn’t have time to do it.  Well, worry no more because Joel Edgerton is officially set to star in the film.

Not only that, but the hardest working woman in showbiz, Jessica Chastain, has joined the cast, along with Edgar Ramirez and Mark Strong.  All of them officially join recent casting announcements Chris Pratt and Jason Clarke.  The only downside to all of this is that Rooney Mara will not be joining the film since she’s still busy doing the press rounds for THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO.  The Kathryn Bigelow directed film is set to hit theaters this December.
