Director Katherine Bigelow made a big splash with her first film THE HURT LOCKER, and in her sophomoric effort she is taking on one of the biggest events in recent American history- the hunt and death of Osama Bin Laden. Considering her subject matter, Bigelow has managed to keep pretty much everything except her all-star cast a secret and for those in eager anticipation, this trailer won’t give too much more away. In fact, I didn’t even catch much footage of our two main players Joel Edgerton and Jessica Chastain. It seems that Bigelow really wants the audience to focus on the subject of the story and not the characters. Since I wasn’t a big fan of THE HURT LOCKER I haven’t been looking forward to ZERO DARK THIRTY, but this trailer does make it more intriguing though it’s always tough to tell with these type of action/dramas. ZERO DARK THIRTY stars Joel Edgerton, Jessica Chastain, Edgar Ramirez, Kyle Chandler, Mark Strong, Chris Pratt, Jason Clarke, Jennifer Ehle Harold Perrineau, Fares Fares and Nash Edgerton. The Katherine Bigelow directed film is slated to hit theaters on December 19th.
