Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer look surprisingly stylish in the first image from The Lone Ranger

By no means can you base an opinion on a movie on the first look from a film that just started shooting, but at least Gore Verbinski’s THE LONE RANGER is off to the right start. Uber-producer Jerry Bruckheimer took to his Twitter account to post the first promo image from the film and overall, I’m really digging the look of Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as The Lone Ranger. They look a lot more stylish than I figured. After all the drama surrounding the film, it looks like Verbinski might pull this off after all.
Along with Depp and Hammer, the film is set to star William Fichtner, Tom Wilkinson, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter. THE LONE RANGER hits theaters on May 31st, 2013.
