Johnny Depp and Gwyneth Paltrow star in the new Mortdecai trailer
I feel like I hate on Johnny Depp a lot, but the truth is that I don’t hate the guy. I’m just really tired of seeing him in bad movies. I’d love to see him in something other than Pirates or a Tim Burton movie that I actually liked. His next leading role is in the offbeat comedy MORTDECAI and the trailer just doesn’t look very good. I’m not sure if it’s the way the trailer was cut or if they didn’t have much to work with, but it doesn’t work. Depp’s comedic timing seems off and the supporting cast, as great as they may be, don’t seem to be on their game. I can’t imagine the studio has much hope for this one since they’re dumping it at the end of January, but I’m sure the star power alone will drive people into the theater. Check out the new trailer below and see for yourself.
