Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars in the first trailer for The Walk

In the eyes of most fans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt can do no wrong.  So he was the perfect choice to lead THE WALK, which is the true story of the guy who walked on a tight rope between the two World Trade Center buildings back in 1974.  I say that because from the first teaser trailer below, it looks like director Robert Zemeckis is going to make this as dramatic as humanly possible, with the trailer spending more time on what Zemeckis has previously done than what the film is actually about.  It also makes it a point to emphasize the IMAX 3D aspect of the film, hoping you’ll be enticed by the idea of seeing someone walk across two skyscrapers in 3D.  The teaser doesn’t give us much and really only serves as a notification or a reminder that the film is coming next year.

THE WALK tells teh true story of Philippe Petit, who is most known for walking on a rope between the two World Trade Center buildings.  He was also the subject of the documentary MAN ON WIRE.  THE WALK stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale, Ben Schwartz, Charlotte Le Bon, Clément Sibony and César Domboy.  The Robert Zemeckis directed film hits theaters on October 2nd, 2015.
