Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth win leads in The Hunger Games

It’s official, Josh Hutcherson has landed the role of Peeta Mellark and Liams Hemsworth has won the role of Gale Hawthorne in the upcoming film THE HUNGER GAMES. As you all know by now, Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence landed the much coveted role of Katniss Everdeen in the film to be directed by Gary Ross and set up at Lionsgate Films. That means filming will be just around the corner to get ready for the theatrical release of March 23, 2012. It also means that other casting news should be following here shortly so keep an eye out!
I actually think Hutcherson will be a good pairing with Jennifer Lawrence. Although I have yet to read ‘The Hunger Games’ by Suzanne Collins, it is on my bookshelf and in the line-up so I can be well versed in how well the film measures up to the original material.
