Juan Carlos Fresnadillo makes his exit from The Crow remake

Posted by: Zack Bruce

I really don’t think that anyone believes that THE CROW remake is a good idea. You can’t really improve upon something that was already great in the first place. Well, great for what it was. It didn’t reinvent filmmaking but it did show that comic adaptations can be taken seriously.

The most recent person to enter as director on the remake, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 WEEKS LATER) has already decided to exit. He actually seemed genuinely interested in doing some different with the material, especially when he got Bradley Cooper on board in the lead. Cooper was very interested as well. Not too long ago, Cooper left the project for PARADISE LOST. Now Fresnadillo has left as well. He is moving on to the HIGHLANDER reboot if negotiations go as planned.

Does this mean that THE CROW remake is down for the count? Possibly. But we won’t know until Relativity Media releases an official statement.
