Justin Bieber: Never Say Never director Jon M. Chu will direct G.I. Joe 2

Jon M. Chu has been picked by Paramount Studios to direct the upcoming sequel G.I. JOE 2 (no real name yet). One thing you can say about Chu, is he’s quite a diverse director. He’s recently coming off of his ridiculously successful JUSTIN BIEBER: NEVER SAY NEVER, which Chu also convinced the studio needed a director’s cut and will soon be re-released in theaters with 40 extra minutes of footage. But Chu isn’t just the Bieber guy, he’s also directed: STEP UP 2: TO THE STREETS and STEP UP 3D, very diverse. I’m not completely opposed to the G.I. Joe’s breaking out into dance battles, are you? Or maybe they can throw down with the Cobra guys in an epic dance-off- that would be awesome.

So finally G.I. JOE 2 has a director, now we just need to find out if any actors are returning to reprise their role. Channing Tatum will the first one the studio will go after (obviously) and he may be more likely to return with Chu on board, after all the STEP UP franchise was what gave Tatum his start so he may just want to head back to his dancing roots.
