Warner Home Video has announced that the 2010 animated/real life film YOGI BEAR, featuring the voice talents of Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake and starring Anna Faris and Tom Cavanagh, will be released in a 2D and 3D Blu-ray version on March 22, 2011. The movie follows a documentary filmmaker who travels to Jellystone Park and crosses paths with Yogi, Boo Boo and Ranger Smith. The film opened in December and took in just less than $100 million at the box office.
I hate to say this about films that I have yet to see, but YOGI BEAR just looks tragic. I can’t believe this film got made and quite frankly I’m shocked that it made as much money as it did. I find the combination of CGI mixed into real life to be weird and usually it doesn’t bode well for a film. However, there’s not a ton of kiddie films that came out last year so I guess this takes up the space-ugh. Special features for YOGI BEAR include:
- Spending a Day at Jellystone Park: take an interactive map tour of Jellystone Park with Yogi, Boo Boo… and some humans, too! Includes
- Watch Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake voicing Yogi and Boo Boo.
- Ranger Jones’ Jellystone Park – including his real-life audition with a bear
- Ranger Smith’s love song
- Roaring rapids, basket-nabbers and so much more
- Yogi Bear Mash-Up
- Game: Are You Smarter Than The Average Bear?
- New Looney Tunes Short: Rabid Rider
The 3D BD adds the following 3D extras:
- Fun on the Yogi Bear Set
- Tour of Jellystone Park
- Jellystone Visitor Pic-a-nic Demo
- Jellystone Park Jewels: Yogi’s Secret Hiding Spot
- Rabid Rider in 3D
