Justin Timberlake, Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan in new images from Inside Llewyn Davis
Although the Coen Brothers are Hollywood royalty, their films are far from a sure thing. For every BIG LEBOWSKI, there’s at least one INTOLERABLE CRUELTY and for every NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, there’s a A SERIOUS MAN. But regardless of their success to failure ratio, whenever they do a movie, it’s a big deal. Next up for the directing duo is INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, which is loosely based on folk musician Dave van Ronk, who never got the acclaim of some other folk musicians, but is generally credited with inspiring the likes of Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell, among others. Speaking of Dylan, the image below of Oscar Isaac is very reminiscent of old images of Bob Dylan.
Directed by Ethan and Joel Coen, INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS stars: Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Oscar Isaac, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund, Adam Driver and Max Casella. The film doesn’t have a release date yet, but early word is that it could premiere at the Cannes film festival in May. Right now, INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS doesn’t even have a domestic distributor, but if it debuts to positive reviews, I’d expect this to get snatched up by any number of Oscar-chasing studios (I’m looking at you, The Weinsteing Co.)
