Justin Timberlake takes over The Idolmaker from Ryan Gosling
The year 2013 is certainly shaping up to be the Justin Timberlake‘s year. He already has a hit album in the bag, but has a “sequel” to that album on the way. But he’s also a pretty decent actor and can next be seen starring alongside Ben Affleck in RUNNER RUNNER coming out soon as well as the upcoming INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, in what will probably be an Oscar-worthy film. Couple that with being married to Jessica Biel and it’s safe to say he’s living the good life right now. If that wasn’t enough, the former N*Sync member is taking over the long in the works THE IDOLMAKER from Ryan Gosling. A few years ago, Ryan Gosling was going to star in and make it his directorial debut, but a tight schedule forced him to back out.
Right now, Justin Timberlake is not officially attached to star, but rather he’s just going to produce the remake of the 1980 Taylor Hackford film about 1950’s music producer Bob Marucci, who discovered people your parents know, like Frankie Avalon and Fabian. Of course, this is in the very early stages and still needs little things like a director and a screenwriter, but it’s an exciting project for Justin Timberlake, who would probably be great in the role, especially if he had a chance to sing and dance along the way. Everything is still in the early stages, but this is one to keep an eye on. (TheWrap)
