Katee Sackhoff set to star opposite Vin Diesel in the Chronicles of Riddick sequel
I don’t want to paint myself as too much of an uber-geek, but I was a huge fan of the new ‘Battlestar Galactica’ TV series and star Katee Sackhoff was a big reason why. So it’s exciting to see her get a shot at big screen fame in the long gestating sequel to THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK. Now that Vin Diesel is a somebody again after reviving the Fast and Furious franchise, he’s using the opportunity to revive his first love, Riddick. He’s been talking about it for a long time and we’ve even seen some concept artwork come out, but we haven’t heard anything as far as start dates or casting announcements until now.
Sorting out the facts from the fiction when it comes to this sequel is a tough task, but from what we can tell, the film follows Riddick as he’s left for dead on a deserted planet. He then has to fight his way through an alien race and save his home planet. We know that Sackhoff will be playing the female lead and at one time, Karl Urban was set to reprise his role from Chronicle. We also know that director David Twohy is on board to return as director. As for start dates, we still don’t know.
