Keanu Reeves spills plot details for Bill & Ted 3

Keanu Reeves in Bill and Ted

Last week the world was hit with the news that Bill & Ted (Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter) would officially be heading back to the big screen and that a director (Dean Parisot GALAXY QUEST) was attached. Today we get a little more information about the plot from an interview with Keanu Reeves. He says, “One of the plot points is that these two people have been crushed by the responsibility of having to write the greatest song ever written and to change the world. And they haven’t done it. So everybody is kind of like: ‘Where is the song?’ The guys have just drifted off into esoterica and lost their rock. And we go on this expedition, go into the future to find out if we wrote the song, and one future ‘us’ refuses to tell us, and another future ‘us’ blames us for their lives because we didn’t write the song, so they’re living this terrible life. In one version we’re in jail; in another we’re at some kind of highway motel and they hate us.”

That sounds about right for BILL & TED 3, exactly what this writer expected. However, if you die hard BILL & TED fans are excited about this third film you may have to hold off for awhile longer. Both Keanu Reeves and Dean Parisot are working on other projects and BILL & TED 3 doesn’t have a studio backing it up with money (the most important part of filmmaking) just yet. Look for this film in the next two to three years if not a bit longer. Until then you’ll just have to keep your fingers crossed that the first two come out on Blu-ray. (GQ)
