Kevin Costner takes on A Little War of Our Own

I like Kevin Costner alright, but he has to be one of the most inconsistent A-list actors out there. His next film takes him to the World War II era where he’ll play a small town sheriff that’s trying to keep his town together after a German U-boat commander moves in. Costner will also be directing the film.
This sounds like an interesting spec and I’m guessing Costner will make it relevant to events going on today. Which begs the question; why not set it in current time and instead of a German U-boat commander, have a former Taliban leader or something?
