Kristen Stewart, Adam Sandler and Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 win big at the Razzies
Many of the complaints people have about the Oscars are just as applicable to the Razzies. Although the Razzies are clearly just for fun and were never meant to be taken seriously, they always end up being an un-popularity (yes, I just made up a word) contest. So as soon as the nominations were announced, we all knew that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART 2 would win the majority of the awards, even though it clearly wasn’t the worst movie of the year. It’s fun to hate on Twilight, but in the series’ defense, the last movie wasn’t that bad. If anything, I don’t think the series has gotten enough credit for how much it has improved since the first one.
Twilight did win Worst Movie, Worst Screen Ensemble, Worst Sequel, Worst Director (Bill Condon), Worst Actress (Kristen Stewart), Worst Supporting Actor (Taylor Lautner) and Worst Screen Couple (Lautner and Mackenzie Foy). The good news for Robert Pattinson fans is that he didn’t “win” Worst Actor. That honor went to the always terrible Adam Sandler for THAT’S MY BOY, which also took home Worst Screenplay. Other winners include Rihanna for Worst Supporting Actress in BATTLESHIP. (Razzies)
